I used to think a decade's a long period of time. Doesn't seem that way, when I look at my first attempt at a blog, and the timestamp is more than a decade old! I also remember when I thought 2020 was far away enough to be wildly optimistic about it. Here we are, halfway through 2019, and it has been more than half a decade since I routinely put pen to paper and indulged in self-expression. Just jogging through old posts and drafts makes me smile. It's a queasy feeling - restarting an old, long lost habit. I'm still an optimist, but a more measured one. Time to get rid of the measured optimism, and make it boundless. One step at a time.
